Drying Rose Petals for Potpourri

Every May my Rose bush blossoms big, beautiful and fragrant flowers.

My beautiful Roses
At the beginning of June I get to pick them and make wonderful things!

Last year I made Homemade Rosewater with my roses.

This year I will dry them for Potpourri.

Make sure to pick your roses when they are dry.
Morning dew can affect the outcome of the dried Rose Petals.
I picked mine at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Roses snipped from the bush

Gently remove the Rose Petals from the stem.
Your fingers will feel sticky from the Rose essence.
The fragrance from the flowers is intoxicating

Find a cool dry place to lay the petals on some paper.
Check them from time to time perhaps to flip them over.

Once my Lavender is ready to harvest I will be adding some to make a nice relaxing and intoxicating blend.

(Add Rose Essential Oil as needed to boost the natural fragrance)
